Let's Go Ski (also referred as LETSGOSKI) ("we," "us," or "our") is a social platform managed and operated by Patrick Da Rin, who acts as the Data Controller for all personal data processing activities. Your current GPS location is collected only when using the application, and previous locations are overwritten with each update - we do not maintain location history or track user movements. Additionally, we collect technical data including browser session data and technical information necessary for the platform's functionality.
Our platform uses only two essential cookies: a session cookie ("sess") required for core platform functionality, and a cookie consent cookie ("cookieConsent") that records your cookie preferences. Both cookies have a duration of one year. We do not use any third-party cookies, analytics cookies, or tracking cookies. All data is stored exclusively within the European Union, specifically in Frankfurt (Europe-West3 server location).
We process your personal data to provide and maintain core platform features, such as user authentication, account management, and displaying potential skiing partners based on geographic proximity, age preferences, and skill level preferences. Your data enables communication between users, delivery of essential service notifications, and response to support requests. We do not use your data for any other purposes beyond these core functionalities.
We process your data based on contract performance for providing our services, explicit consent for location data processing, legal obligations for compliance with applicable laws, and legitimate interests for security and fraud prevention. Each type of processing is carefully considered and limited to what is necessary for the specified purpose.
Your account data and chat history are retained until you choose to delete your account or until one year of inactivity, after which accounts are automatically terminated. Upon account deletion, all data is immediately and permanently deleted with no retention. We implement robust security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data transfers, password encryption, regular security audits, and strict access controls. Our platform undergoes regular security assessments to ensure the protection of your data.
We maintain a strict policy of not sharing your personal data with any third parties. Location data is obtained directly through your browser's geolocation API, and no data transfers outside the EU occur. Our platform is strictly limited to users 18 years and older, with age verification occurring during registration. Accounts of discovered underage users are immediately terminated, and all associated data is deleted. Users can report suspected underage accounts through our customer support system, either via the in-app function in settings or by email.
In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours. Our management team handles such incidents with established procedures, including immediate notification to appropriate authorities as required by law. We maintain preventive measures through access control, secure connections, and strong password requirements.
While we use algorithms to display potential skiing partners, no automated decision-making occurs. Users are shown based solely on specified criteria of location, age, and skill level, with display order being random. No profiling or automated matching takes place, ensuring users maintain full control over their interactions and choices on the platform.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Users will be notified of significant changes via email, and the latest version will always be accessible within the app.
